Student Apartments entering college or university have many options for staying. They could find accommodation at the hostels provided by the university. These are usually dormitory type rooms within a building and can be same sex or co-ed. The disadvantage with dormitories is the lack of privacy though you can meet and make new friends here. Students preferring a little privacy can opt for a single room or opt for a Student Apartments. Single rooms are usually made available within the university campus in a different building than the dormitories. Student apartments can be either provided by the university or can be rented outside campus from private residents looking for tenants.
If the apartment is within the campus, students may look forward to sharing it with a roommate or two to divide the cost of renting. However, this may be unnecessary since universities subsidise costs for on campus living. Renting an apartment outside campus however is not. In this case, sharing the apartment with roommates is highly recommended. Also, the owners may not take too kindly to student behaviour and so some restrictions are advised. Once you have your own apartment, there is a sense of independence and responsibility in the realisation that you are taking the first step into becoming an adult.
